On March 24 and 25, the grand Japanese animation festival Anime Japan 2018 will take place in Tokyo. The Big Sight exhibition complex will traditionally serve as the venue for the event, bringing together animators and anime fans from around the world.
According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, the festival will feature colorful cosplay shows, spectacular performances, and concerts. Audiences will also be treated to new animated films.
Anime originated in Japan exactly 100 years ago, so the celebrations will be a milestone. In 2017, the Anime Japan festival was attended by nearly 150,000 guests—double the number from the previous year.
Tickets are 1,800 yen (¥$17) in advance and 2,200 yen (approximately ¥$21) at the door. Children under 12 can attend this animation festival for free.
