State Duma: Law on reintroducing smoking areas to airports requires discussion

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin stated at a meeting that the law on reinstating smoking rooms at airports requires discussion. This law was included in the agenda for the first reading on July 11.

“This is a question that requires discussion. "We don't smoke, and we don't recommend it to others. Anyone who enjoys it and wants separate rooms should justify it. Time will tell how the deputies vote," he said, according to Interfax.

In addition, he also emphasized that smoking by adults is an unworthy example for children who, when going on vacation with their parents, will observe adults smoking.

"Imagine the example we'll set. Children absorb this kind of behavior. That's why the vote on the bill is by roll call only. Publication is mandatory," the State Duma Speaker noted.

As a reminder, the Central Federal District's transport police previously supported the return of smoking rooms to airports.
