Internet user interest in boat charters has also increased by 191,000, although the absolute numbers show lower growth. The figures are approximately 85,000 times over the past year. These figures were obtained through an analysis of Yandex query statistics.
The busy season kicked off a month ago—traditionally, May sees a surge in interest in this type of vacation, which lasts until the end of August. The lowest numbers are in December, when the number of searches drops by about a fifth compared to the summer.
Tourists have a weekly planning horizon for short-term yacht charters and trips within the city. These typically involve rentals of two hours or more. International and longer trips are planned in advance, including in winter.
According to experts, market players can be divided into two main categories: motorboat rentals, which can accommodate several dozen passengers, and yacht charters. The former are used for corporate events and excursions, while the latter are used for private celebrations or intimate getaways. There are no more than 20 major companies in the market, and the majority are smaller companies with one or two motorboats or yachts.
TakeBoat, a yacht and boat rental aggregator, confirmed a rise in interest in this type of entertainment over the past two years. According to the service, the average yacht rental is now 7,000 rubles per hour, while the average boat rental is around 900 rubles.
