Ozon.travel, an online service for selling air and train tickets, surveyed travelers about their preferred methods of getting to their departure point. A total of 1,340 people participated in the survey.

As the company's press service told the TRN portal, a third of those surveyed (33%) responded that to save money, they try to get to the airport by public transportation (buses, minibuses, commuter trains, and the Aeroexpress). They also try to book their plane tickets at times that avoid early morning and late night, when public transportation is not available.
Another 29% will travel to the airport only by taxi, as they find it uncomfortable to travel on public transport with luggage.
23% choose a "combined" method - they take a taxi to the airport transfer (a direct minibus or bus that departs from a specific point in the city) and transfer to public transport, which takes them directly to their destination.
9% respondents choose car sharing, 4% look for travel companions online, and only 2% prefer a private transfer, as it allows them to get to the airport at a fixed rate in a premium car or a multi-seat vehicle for the whole family.
