
The State Railways of Thailand offers weekend routes from Bangkok to Pattaya and Sattahip.Starting March 17, a special train of three air-conditioned carriages will depart from the Thai capital to beach resorts on Saturdays and Sundays.
The pilot project is scheduled to last six months, according to Thailand News. Tickets to Pattaya and Sattahip will cost 170 baht ($5.5).
The train departs from Hua Lamphong Station in Bangkok at 6:45 AM and arrives in Pattaya at 9:13 AM, and in Sattahip 35 minutes later at 9:50 AM. The return train to Bangkok from Plutaluang (Sattahip) departs at 3:50 PM, arrives in Pattaya at 4:26 PM, and reaches the capital at 6:25 PM.
The train will be convenient for those visitors to Bangkok who want to spend the day at the resort, but do not want to get behind the wheel.
