Due to the cancellation of domestic and international JAL flights due to Typhoon Hagibis, Russian tourists are contacting the Russian Embassy in Japan.
“The Embassy is receiving numerous requests from compatriots regarding the emergency cancellation a number of domestic and international flights of airline #JAL.
The Japanese air carrier cites force majeure circumstances caused by the powerful typhoon Hagibis.
"The Embassy's Consular Section is currently working with the airline and Russian travel agents to find possible solutions in each specific case. We are monitoring the matter. Please be reminded to call our emergency number: +819039654639," the agency reported on its official Facebook page.
As a reminder, from October 12th to 14th, the Russian Embassy in Japan warned tourists about the approaching storm and recommended "exercising maximum vigilance, refraining from travel, and, if possible, not leaving their homes during the storm."
"Leading transport companies have announced the possibility of suspending operations. A crisis center has been established within the Office of the Prime Minister of Japan to coordinate the work of relevant agencies to minimize potential damage," the diplomatic mission added.
