Amid growing Russian tourist traffic to Malta, Air Malta will increase the number of flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg this summer. The Malta Tourism Authority told TRN this.

“Since the beginning of April 2019 "Air Malta operates three flights a week from Sheremetyevo Airport on Wednesdays and weekends, with an additional flight added on Mondays starting June 10. This brings the airline's Moscow-Malta service to four. Residents of St. Petersburg will be able to take advantage of direct flights twice a week (on Thursdays and Sundays) until the end of September," the department explained.
Incidentally, between November 2018 and March 2019, Malta International Airport handled over two million passengers, representing a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
This growth was reflected not only in the increase in the number of air travel flights (+8.1%) but also in the increase in the number of seats on board (+7.6%). The seat load factor (SLF) for the period was 76%.
