Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Sergei Galkin as Deputy Minister of Economic Development, who will oversee tourism development in Russia. The corresponding document was published on the government website.

 

 

Sergei Galkin in 2005 He graduated from the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, then from 2010 to 2016 he worked at VTB Capital, where Maxim Oreshkin worked from 2012 to 2013.

In 2017, Sergey Galkin took up the position of Advisor to the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. That same year, he headed the Department of Organizational Support and Communications at the Ministry of Economic Development.

In this position, he will oversee the ministry's project activities, as well as the development of tourism in the Russian Federation, which Vladimir Putin transferred from the Ministry of Culture to the Ministry of Economic Development by decree back in September. Rostourism was also transferred to the Ministry of Economic Development.

"In this position, Sergei Galkin will oversee the ministry's project activities, including the development of domestic and inbound tourism markets. He will also remain responsible for organizational support for the minister and the ministry," the ministry reported.
