The Andorran resort of Encamp, located in the Grandvalira ski area, has become Andorra's most popular ski resort for the upcoming winter season, maintaining this status for the third year in a row. This was reported to the TRN portal by the press service of the tour operator Biblio-Globus.

According to the company, the share of tours with accommodation at the Encamp resort in the tour operator's sales structure has increased by 12% over the past three years and amounted to more than a third (36%) of all tours sold to this country in the 2018/2019 winter season.
Biblio-Globus specialists attribute the resort's popularity to its more affordable prices compared to neighboring Andorran resorts, as well as Encamp's convenient location near the capital of Andorra la Vella and the Principality's fastest ski lift, the Funicamp, which provides access to all the slopes of the Grandvalira ski area. According to company representatives, in addition to high-end hotels, the resort also offers a large number of budget hotels offering affordable accommodations.
Other popular Andorran resorts among Biblio-Globus tour operator clients this coming winter season include Andorra la Vella, Escaldes, Soldeu, and La Massana. Russian tourists most often purchase seven-night tours to Andorra with accommodation in 3-4-star hotels. A week-long winter trip starts at 27,300 rubles per person, including airfare, accommodation in a 3-star hotel, and transfers.
According to Biblio-Globus's press service, Russian tourists annually choose Andorra for its high level of service, a variety of hotels in various price ranges, and reasonable prices compared to other European ski destinations. The destination's advantages include a mild climate and a wide selection of over 300 kilometers of slopes at various levels, catering to both beginners and professionals. The Principality's shopping opportunities are also particularly noteworthy. The country is a duty-free zone, offering discounts of up to 30% year-round at over 4,000 stores and shopping centers.
Biblio-Globus's own flight program to Andorra's ski resorts will feature weekly flights on Saturdays from Moscow on board a comfortable Boeing 737-800 operated by Rossiya Airlines on the Moscow-Barcelona-Moscow route.
Next spring, the largest winter event in Andorra's history will take place: from March 11 to 17, the Grandvalira slopes will host the Alpine Skiing World Cup Final for the first time.
The competition's location was chosen for a reason: Grandvalira is among the top twenty ski resorts in the world. The world's best athletes will compete for the championship title in disciplines such as slalom, giant slalom, super-G, and downhill.
