In June, a museum dedicated to Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel "The Brothers Karamazov" will open in Staraya Russa (Novgorod Oblast). It will be housed in the Staraya Russa Scientific and Cultural Center, an architectural landmark built during Dostoevsky's time.
According to Interfax, the museum's multimedia exhibition will tell the story of the novel, many chapters of which Dostoevsky wrote in Staraya Russa. Excerpts from the film of the same name will be shown on screens, and the sounds of the streets of that era and fragments of classical music will echo throughout the halls.
In Staraya Russa there is also a house-museum of F.M. Dostoevsky, where the writer lived and worked from 1873 to 1878.
