A passenger plane crashed in Cuba.

A Boeing 737 aircraft belonging to Cubana de Aviacion with 100 passengers on board crashed in Cuba on Friday, Telemundo reported, citing Cuban television, as reported by RIA Novosti.

 

 

The plane was flying from Havana to Holguin. It crashed a few minutes after takeoff. from Havana airport.

The Russian Embassy is in contact with Cuban authorities. Diplomats are determining whether there were Russian citizens on board the crashed aircraft.

According to the Infobae portal, there were 104 people on board the plane. Cibercuba, citing Cuban radio station Radio Rebelde journalist Gabdiel Silva, reports that there were 107 people on board, excluding the crew, all of whom died.

The head of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, arrived at the scene of the incident.
