There will be no more illegal masseurs on the beaches of Pattaya

Thai massage on the beach is a popular service among tourists in Pattaya. However, the resort's beach areas are home to many unauthorized individuals—people without specialized training or education—offering massages to vacationers. Such massages can be harmful to health, and the illegal immigrants use oils of unknown composition and origin. Authorities have declared war on these "massage therapists," most of whom are citizens of neighboring countries who have purchased beach staff uniforms.

According to Thailand News, Pattaya administration plans to conduct several inspections to ensure that massages are performed by qualified professionals. Furthermore, all oils and skin care products used by massage therapists will be checked. Finally, the third thing the inspectors will look at is the price of the service.

Currently, there are 185 massage therapists wearing blue uniforms working at Dongtan Beach, while 150 massage therapists wearing pink uniforms offer massage services at Jomtien Beach.
