Another forecast for Egypt: flights to resorts may resume in the near future

Another announcement regarding the timing of the resumption of direct flights to Egyptian resorts was made on Tuesday: according to Federation Council Committee Chairman Konstantin Kosachev, flights could be restored in the near future. However, there are no No specific deadlines were announced.

During a meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Ihab Nasr, Konstantin Kosachev emphasized that Moscow-Cairo service has now been fully restored. "Other popular routes are already close to being fully restored," he said.

However, observers say it's still too early to make any predictions about this. "We've heard similar statements many times before, but direct flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh are still banned. It's difficult to say how the situation will develop," one expert explained to the portal.

As a reminder, agencies that had previously visited Sharm el-Sheikh as part of a promotional tour told TRN that despite the absence of Russian tourists, Egyptian hotels have maintained their popularity: the service and infrastructure of local hotels have remained unchanged over the past few years. At the same time, experts note that the republic's resorts don't appear deserted, meaning it's not worth expecting deep discounts for the Russian market after the launch of charter flights.
