"Thanks to the new system, passenger data is sent to Dubai's immigration authorities for verification in advance, reducing the time required to clear passport control from three minutes to ten seconds. The officer will only need to stamp the passport. This applies to both arrivals and departures," the statement said.
According to the publication, passenger information begins entering the system after the ticket is purchased and is activated for verification 48 hours before departure. If the ticket is purchased at the last minute, the data will be entered into the system one hour before departure.
Last year, Dubai welcomed 15.8 million foreign tourists, 530,000 of whom were Russian. Russian tourist traffic to Dubai increased by 1,211,000. The emirate's authorities have set a target of welcoming 20 million tourists in 2020.
