The fountains in the Upper and Lower Parks of the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve in St. Petersburg will open on April 27. During the summer season, admission to the Lower Park, where most of the fountains are located, will be charged until 6:00 PM (the fountains' closing time). On holidays, the park's fountains will be turned off an hour later—at 7:00 PM.
On May 18, the traditional spring Fountain Festival will take place at the Grand Cascade in Peterhof, according to the museum's press service. This year, it's dedicated to the 220th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin's birth. The "Genius and Place" festival will begin at 1:00 PM. Spectators will see sketches about Pushkin's life, the heroes of his works, and excerpts from famous ballets based on beloved fairy tales during the open-air performance. The festival will conclude with a pyrotechnic show.
Tickets to Peterhof's Lower Park this season will cost 450 rubles for Russian and CIS citizens and 900 rubles for foreigners. A list of discounts available for visiting the museum and park is available here.
