The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office (MMTP) has filed a lawsuit against Pobeda Airlines over the introduction of check-in fees for flights at foreign airports, according to MMTP Senior Assistant Ekaterina Korotkova.

Moscow "The Prosecutor's Office for the Supervision of Law Enforcement in Air and Water Transport, conducting investigations based on online reports and citizen complaints, discovered unlawful demands made by Pobeda Airlines on passengers. "For example, the rules for the carriage of passengers and baggage, posted on the airline's official website, impose a €25 fee for passengers checking in for flights at foreign airports," noted Ekaterina Krotkova.
In addition, she believes that in order to eliminate the violations, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the Shcherbinsky District Court to declare the carrier's requirement illegal and to require it to be excluded from the airline's rules, reports the Moscow City News Agency.
As a reminder, low-cost airline Pobeda introduced paid check-in at international airports on October 28. This was a necessary step for the airline to avoid increasing ticket prices. The low-cost airline submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Transport to introduce a fee for airport check-in.
