The travel service Tutu.ru found out in which cities and countries parents with school-age children will celebrate September 1. All air tickets purchased on the Tutu.ru website with departure from Russian cities in July and August (before August 31) and arrival back after 3 September. Among the passengers in the order were children from 6 to 17 years old.
This year, September 1st falls on a Sunday, so schools themselves decided when to celebrate Knowledge Day and start classes.
Experts have compiled a rating of cities for which young travelers postponed the start of the school year.
As the company's press service told the TRN portal, the Russian top ten mostly included resort cities (Simferopol, Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik and others). Interestingly, almost half of the school travelers (42%) who will celebrate September 1st outside their hometown will spend Knowledge Day in Crimea.
Earlier, experts from the travel service Tutu.ru determined the peak dates for the return of tourists from southern Russian cities where there are railway stations and/or an airport.
It turned out that the busiest day at airports before the start of the school year was August 24. On this day, the largest number of passengers who bought tickets for the second half of August-early September flew out of southern cities. But the peak days at southern railway stations were August 16-19.
