Sevastopol's popularity has grown by 20% among tourists

Sevastopol's popularity among tourists increased significantly during the 2018 resort season. From May to September, the Crimean hero city was visited by approximately 385,000 people, which is approximately 201,000 more than during the 2017 resort season. However, the statistics only take into account those tourists who stayed in hotels for one or more nights.

The city government's press service reports that tax revenue from hotels, food service establishments, and entertainment venues increased by 221,000 rubles, amounting to 168 million rubles. At a press conference, Nikolai Krasnolitsky, head of the Sevastopol Main Department of Culture, commented that the city's primary attendance was approximately 3 million people. With the completion of the Crimean Bridge and informational support from the Moscow Ministry of Tourism and Sports, more and more people are interested in visiting this historic city. Some, in turn, are interested in the famous Crimean festivals and the peninsula's vineyards, the city administration's press service reported.

In 2019, the Crimean route is expected to become even more popular with the opening of a silent railway on the Crimean Bridge.
