Russian Embassy in India maintains contact with Russian tourists

The Russian Embassy in India is maintaining contact with Russian tourists in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Indo-Pakistani conflict there occurred. This was reported by Andrey Fedorov, head of the consular section of the diplomatic mission.

"We have "We have information about two tourist groups: one of them consists of four Russians, the other of one Russian citizen. We are in regular contact with them. So far, everything is fine with them," the diplomat said, according to TASS.

He also noted that airports were closed due to the incident, which caused some problems for Russians returning home. "Now that the airports are reopening, we hope that all Russians will soon be able to return from Kashmir," he commented.

As a reminder, on the night of February 26, the Indian Air Force struck militant camps in the areas of Balakot, Muzaffarabad, and Chakoti, all located in Kashmir. Meanwhile, the Pakistani army announced the downing of two Indian Air Force aircraft that violated Pakistani airspace over Kashmir. According to this information, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning. The Indian Foreign Ministry called the strike urgently needed. Pakistani authorities considered the incident an act of aggression and threatened an appropriate response.

It should also be noted that due to the conflict between the two countries, tour operators were forced to urgently change their flight programs on some routes.
