Charter ticket sales up 35%

Sales of charter airline tickets booked in January-March for the upcoming 2018 summer season increased by 35% compared to the same period last year, according to a report from the Biletix service.

“The growth in charter ticket sales is driven by several factors "This year, tour operators were able to identify priority destinations in advance and put charter tickets on sale through the online booking system as early as November. We're also seeing a significant increase in charter ticket sales from the regions—Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, and Ufa are leading the way," says Tatyana Shvedova, head of the Biletix charter program.

The average price for charter flights abroad this summer was 19,500 rubles.

Among the most popular charter destinations are Burgas in Bulgaria, Dalaman in Turkey, Tivat in Montenegro, Larnaca in Cyprus, and Thessaloniki in Greece.
