The prosecutor's office has succeeded in eliminating paid check-in for Pobeda flights.

The Moscow City Court supported the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office (MMTP) in the matter of Pobeda Airlines introducing a €25 fee for check-in for flights at foreign airports.

"It has been established that "In accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, the carrier or service provider provides services at the airport, including passenger check-in and baggage handling. Under the established regulations, no additional fee is charged for this service, and this innovation by the airline directly contradicts these provisions of the law," the MMTP press service reported.

As a reminder, low-cost airline Pobeda introduced paid check-in at international airports on October 28. As the airline explained at the time, this measure was necessary to avoid increasing ticket prices.

Shortly thereafter, the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit regarding this matter. The court accepted the claim, but on April 25, the Shcherbinsky Court of Moscow ruled against canceling paid check-in for Pobeda Airlines flights at international airports.

We would also like to add that Pobeda Airlines proposed to the Ministry of Transport to introduce a fee for check-in at Russian airports, but was refused.
