Putin orders compensation for fuel costs for Russian airlines

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Government to compensate airlines for fuel costs. The corresponding decision was made following a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council held on September 10, 2018.

 

 

“Submit, if necessary, proposals with appropriate justifications on the amount of one-time compensation for airlines’ expenses in connection with the increase in the cost of aviation fuel in order to contain prices for passenger air transportation,” says the document, published on the portal of the President of the Russian Federation.

 

In addition, the Government was instructed to ensure, within the framework of a comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of trunk infrastructure, the synchronization of programs for subsidizing air travel in connection with airports in the Far East with measures to reconstruct the infrastructure of airports in the Far East and increase their capacity.
