"Currently, over 15,000 applications have been submitted to the competition from all 85 regions of Russia. The most active of these were the Republic of Bashkortostan and Crimea, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Novgorod Region. Of the participants, 65,313 were women, and 34,713 were men. Applications were submitted by people of all ages and professions, which once again proves that the hospitality industry is open to everyone willing to test their abilities. All-Russian professional competition "Masters of Hospitality" The competition launched on November 13. The project's goal is to unlock the potential of professionals, foster new traditions, and raise service standards and the prestige of professions in the tourism and hospitality industries. In addition to the knowledge and competencies of the participants, the competition will also evaluate their original hospitality projects. The best projects will receive support and be implemented in Russian regions. The competition is co-organized by National Union of the Hospitality Industry (NUHI).
Fifty contestants will be named winners. All will have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program with industry leaders and government officials. Twenty-five of them will also receive a certificate for a special educational program at the Skolkovo School of Management in Moscow. All finalists may also receive invitations to internships with government agencies, leading companies, and organizations.
The "Masters of Hospitality" competition will be held in several stages: registration and qualifying rounds, regional semi-finals, and the final. The selection round (online testing) of the competition will take place in January–February 2020. During this round, competition experts will assess general and professional knowledge, intellectual abilities, and management competencies.
Regional semi-finals will be held from February to April in nine regions of Russia. The final will take place in April 2020 and will bring together 200 industry specialists.
Anyone can participate in the competition, compete for prizes, and receive a grant to implement their own project. Participants must be Russian citizens and at least 18 years old. Winners will be paired with renowned restaurateurs, hoteliers, and hospitality managers.
The competition's best projects can be implemented with the support of the Federal Passenger Company, Rostourism, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.
Participants will also have the chance to win trips to the five-star MRIYA RESORT & SPA, a business English course from Skyeng, training at Travel Business School, support for the best projects from Russia's number one travel service, Tutu.ru, a valuable prize from METRO Cash&Carry, certificates from Sletat.ru Academy, and much more.
