Analytical agency TurStat compiled a ranking of small Russian cities popular for travel and recreation in the summer of 2018.
The ranking of small tourist towns with a population of up to 10 thousand people is headed by towns in the Ivanovo, Vladimir and Vologda regions areas.
Among the Top 5 Small Cities in Russia for Vacation and Travel in Summer 2018 included Plyos in the Ivanovo region, Suzdal in the Vladimir region, Kirillov in the Vologda region, Bolgar in the Republic of Tatarstan and Myshkin in the Yaroslavl region.
According to data TurStatTourists vacation in small towns for an average of two days and spend between 2,000 and 2,500 rubles on accommodation.
