Russian Railways has introduced the possibility of merging personal accounts on the Russian Railways website and in the Russian Railways Bonus program. However, this merger has its pitfalls, reports our own correspondent Travel.ru.

The merger simplifies the management of your account in the RZD Bonus program: from your account on the RZD website, you can accrue points for completed trips, issue premium tickets, view account statistics, and provide feedback. You can merge by logging into your account on the RZD website and entering your RZD Bonus card details there.

Those wishing to merge should exercise caution. During this process, the passenger's data in the personal account on the Russian Railways website is replaced with data from the Russian Railways Bonus account for some unclear reason. Among other things, not only the spelling of the passenger's first and last name, date of birth, etc., is replaced, but also the email address. At the same time, it is impossible to edit all this data in the Russian Railways Bonus account in advance - although for some reason it is possible to correct the place of birth there. Correction of other data is possible only by contacting the Russian Railways Bonus call center.

In addition, RZD Bonus participants have regained the ability to issue premium tickets online for other people, which was taken away about three years ago for unknown reasons. However, the number of such tickets is limited to 10 per year (the number of premium tickets for the account holder in the program is not limited).
