According to the WHO, a new outbreak of the Ebola virus disease has been registered in the Republic of Congo, Rospotrebnadzor reports.

“Over the past five weeks, 21 suspected cases of the viral disease have been identified near the village of Bikoro in Equateur Province. "Hemorrhagic fever, of which 17 were fatal. However, according to health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the presence of the Ebola virus was laboratory-confirmed in two of the five samples," the agency clarified.
Rospotrebnadzor is currently considering providing assistance to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in eliminating the Ebola outbreak.
Rospotrebnadzor asks that this information be taken into account when planning trips; the Russian Federation does not have direct air service to the DRC.
