Rospotrebnadzor on the outbreak of bird flu in China

Rospotrebnadzor, citing data from the World Health Organization (WHO), reports that China has recorded its first case of human infection with the H7N4 bird flu virus.

According to China's National Health Commission and Family Planning (NHFPC), the virus was detected in a 68-year-old woman who had been in contact with poultry the day before becoming ill. The patient was hospitalized on January 1 with symptoms of acute pneumonia.

Although the H7N4 virus is rarely transmitted from birds to humans, experts do not rule out the emergence of new cases of the disease.

According to Chinese epidemiologists, there is no circulation of the H7N4 virus among birds.

WHO is not currently imposing restrictions on travel or trade with China.

The Federal Tourism Agency recommends that Russian citizens who are in China or planning trips to this country take this information into account. Rostourism also calls on tour operators selling tours to China to warn tourists about the outbreak of bird flu.
