Rospotrebnadzor assessed the readiness of Turkish hotels for the season.

From May 14 to 17, 2018, within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation, another assessment visit of Rospotrebnadzor experts took place to Turkey.

During the visit, the main topic of discussion with representatives of the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Turkey was Organization of measures to prevent infectious diseases among vacationers during the 2018 resort season.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on a number of issues related to epidemiological surveillance of enterovirus infection and discussed the organization of preventive and anti-epidemic measures this year in hotels along the Turkish resort coast.

"Compared to the previous year, Turkey has taken additional measures to prevent the emergence and spread of infectious diseases among vacationers, including those proposed by Rospotrebnadzor specialists.

"Much attention has been paid to preparing the hotel facilities: measures have been strengthened to ensure safe water supply and food, ensure the operation of swimming pools, and train staff. Measures have been taken to improve the detection and laboratory diagnosis of infections, and organize anti-epidemic measures," the department noted.

The Rospotrebnadzor commission was given the opportunity to directly examine the organization of preventive work in the regions of the Turkish Republic most visited by Russian tourists: Side, Belek, and Antalya.

Rospotrebnadzor experts have noted the quality of hotels' preparations for the holiday season and measures to minimize the risk of spreading infectious diseases.

During the visit, an agreement was reached with the Turkish side on close cooperation to prevent health threats to Russian tourists. The parties also discussed further areas of cooperation in preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
