Russians should temporarily refrain from traveling to Nicaragua due to anti-government protests in that country, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Situation and Crisis Center (SCCC) reported on Thursday, Interfax reports.
"Anti-government protests, clashes with the police, blocking roads and increasing crime. A nationwide strike is planned for July 13. We recommend that Russians temporarily refrain from traveling to Nicaragua," the DSCC said on Twitter.
The department also noted that due to the difficult socio-political situation, the schedule of COPA Airlines flights from Panama to the capital of Nicaragua, Managua, has been changed.
The Republic of Nicaragua is a country in Central America, located between Costa Rica (to the south) and Honduras (to the north).
