Analysts from an online hotel booking service Ostrovok.en We asked social media users to share how much they would be willing to spend on a trip for two during the upcoming holiday weekend. More than 3,000 people participated in the survey.

As reported to TRN by the Ostrovok.ru press service, the majority of Russian tourists planning to travel on March 8 intend to spend no more than 50,000 rubles on their trip—53% tourists reported such plans.
Thus, almost a quarter of Russians plan to vacation on a budget and intend to spend less than 10,000 rubles on a trip. It's worth noting that such budget trips are most popular among male respondents. Another 81,000 tourists want to spend less than 20,000 rubles. One in ten respondents planned a trip costing up to 30,000 rubles, and 111,000 to 50,000 rubles. Another 111,000 tourists said their upcoming trip would cost between 50,000 and 100,000 rubles.
The share of tourists willing to spend over 100,000 rubles on a trip was 121,000. Notably, 81,000 of these tourists would spend over 200,000 rubles on a vacation. Moreover, among respondents planning a trip costing over 200,000 rubles, there were twice as many men as women—101,000 and 51,000, respectively.
Almost a quarter of Russians do not plan to travel during the upcoming holidays, preferring to stay home (24%). This was reported more often by women (28%) than men (20%).
The most popular international destinations by number of bookings from March 5–11, 2020, were Paris, Warsaw, Berlin, Barcelona, and Prague. The average booking price for international trips is 45,000 rubles per room for 6 nights.
The most popular domestic destinations were Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, and Yalta. When traveling within Russia, the average cost of accommodation booking is 10,500 rubles per room for 3 nights.
