According to a study conducted by the NAFI analytical center, one in three Russians plans to travel abroad in the coming year, and one in two across Russia. They are willing to spend about 60,000 rubles per person on a vacation abroad, and about 40 thousand.

A third of Russians are considering going on holiday abroad in the coming year (33%). Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg are most likely to report their intention to travel abroad (521 rubles versus 241 rubles among rural residents), as are young adults aged 18–34 (44–461 rubles versus 15–351 rubles in other age groups). The average amount they are willing to spend on a vacation outside of Russia (including transportation, accommodation, etc.) is 61,130 rubles. One in ten respondents expects to spend no more than 40,000 rubles per person.
More than half of Russians (58%) intend to spend their holidays in Russia, and residents of cities with a population of over a million (65%) most often express this desire. The average estimated domestic tourism expenditure, including accommodation, travel, and other expenses, is 40,490 rubles per person. More than a quarter (28%) of Russians expect to spend no more than 40,000 rubles on travel within Russia.
