Taiwan has become visa-free for Russians

Taiwanese authorities have announced the abolition of entry visas for Russian citizens as part of an experiment that will last until July 31, 2019. Russians can enter the country without visas from September 6. Russian citizens can stay in Taiwan without visas for no more than 14 days.

As TASS reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, citizens of the Russian Federation can stay in the country without a visa for tourism or business purposes for no more than 14 days. To enter, a foreign passport valid for more than six months is required, as well as a return ticket or a ticket to a third country.

Taiwan is an island in the Pacific Ocean that has been governed by its own administration since 1949. The PRC calls Taiwan one of its provinces. By canceling visas for Russian citizens, Taiwanese authorities hope to increase the tourist flow due to those Russians who prefer to vacation in Southeast Asia.
