Turkey expects a tourism boom in 2018

Turkey is expecting a tourism boom in 2018. This is the general opinion regarding the forecast for next year expressed by the co-founder Corendon Tourism Group Ortakoy Y?ld?ray Karaer, President of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED) Osman Ay?k and CEO Diana Travel Burak Tonbul, Yeni Alanya reports.

The forecast was made on the basis of agreements concluded in August between tour operators in various markets and airlines for 2018.

"We know that the first negotiations were held in August, and high interest in Turkey from Europe was confirmed. We expect the increase in tourist flow to average 20% across the market," he stated. Ortakoy Y?ld?ray Karaer.

In turn, general manager Diana Travel Burak Tonbul reported that “the company expects to increase the number of tourists served from Germany and Belgium next year by 20%.”

Meanwhile, President of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED) Osman Ay?k noted that «Some of the European markets that Turkey temporarily lost have reoriented themselves towards Spain and Greece, but none of these countries can replace Turkey’s potential.”

"Intense demand for Spain, Greece, and Bulgaria has already driven prices in these markets up by 20-30 percent, which is higher than Turkey's prices. Furthermore, these destinations lag in terms of service quality and are not very profitable for tour operators. We believe demand for Turkey will increase," the speaker added.
