Tourists help Amsterdam by cleaning its canals

In Amsterdam, tourists are offered boat tours along the canals, during which they can make a real difference to the city by scooping up plastic waste floating in the water. The excursions were organized by city authorities and the Plastic Whale environmental foundation, created to combat litter in the canals of the Dutch capital.

The "Plastic Whale" provides drinks and snacks for tour participants, who explore the sights while collecting trash from the water. As Interfax reports, citing the German publication Stern, Amsterdam visitors eagerly participate in this program.

Interestingly, the boats used by tourists are made from recycled plastic, and their catch is also recycled and given a second life. The eco-tour costs 25 euros per person.
