German cities that welcome tourists the warmest have been named.

Airbnb has named Germany's most hospitable cities. Munich and Berlin didn't make the top 10, according to ReiseReporter.

Experts from the popular online accommodation booking platform Airbnb have compiled a list based on user ratings over the past year. The list of the most hospitable German cities. Interestingly, major German cities like Berlin, Munich, and Hanover were not included. As Alexander Schwarz, Managing Director of Airbnb Germany, noted, the top 10 cities were Lower Saxony and Bavaria. He noted that Bavaria remains very popular with tourists. Lower Saxony deserves congratulations for its excellent results, he added.

The city of Füssen in Bavaria tops the hospitality list. Nearly 901,000,000 guests gave it the highest rating. According to experts, Füssen has much to offer tourists. It's especially likely to appeal to climbers and nature lovers, as the city is surrounded by lakes and mountains. Just a six-minute drive from Füssen is King Ludwig II's fairytale castle, Neuschwanstein.

Fulda in Hesse ranked second in the top 10. It's considered an ideal destination for history buffs. The city center boasts a Baroque quarter with a castle, churches, parks, and 18th-century gardens. Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria rounded out the top three. A year ago, this city was named the most welcoming in Germany. Currently, it has received over 861,333,500 five-star ratings online. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is particularly renowned as a ski resort. However, even in the summer, the mountain scenery attracts numerous hikers, climbers, and mountain bikers.

The top five also included Kaiserslautern, located in the heart of the Palatinate Forest nature park, and Bielefeld, ideal for hikers and cyclists. Oldenburg, Tübingen, Braunschweig, Osnabrück, and Galee also made the top 10.

According to Airbnb guest reviews, the most hospitable cities in Russia are St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Vladivostok, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Krasnodar.
