Starting February 2, 2020, Russian tourists will be able to obtain five-year visas to Finland, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.

As explained by ATOR, the new EU visa code will come into force on February 2, 2020, within the framework of which countries The European Union may issue longer-term visas to Russians. However, the association emphasized that such a long-term Schengen visa is only possible if the applicant has already obtained a two-year Finnish visa within the last three years, and that visa "was used according to all regulations without violations."
As a reminder, the visa application process for Russian tourists to Finland has become more complicated since September 1st of this year. From that date on, travelers must present documents confirming hotel and transportation reservations, a route description, a salary certificate from their employer, as well as bank statements for the previous three months or proof of ownership of real estate in Russia.
Previously, these documents were required from tourists, but only in exceptional cases.
