This year, many Russians are planning to go to the seaside.

36% Russians plan to go on vacation this year to the sea, river, or lake. This was reported by the Romir research holding on its official website, which conducted a survey on the topic: "Are you planning to go on vacation in the coming year for the purpose of...? (%)."

The study involved 1,500 people aged 18 to 60, living in all types of cities and rural areas, in all federal districts.

The survey yielded the following results: 361,331 Russians plan to vacation this year by a body of water (sea, reservoir, lake, river); 171,331 respondents are interested in cultural and educational vacations; 161,331 people are attracted to ecotourism—hiking, fishing, and river rafting. 141,331 plan to vacation at a health resort. And only 81,331 respondents want to go skiing.

According to the holding's researchers, the majority chose a seaside vacation, and this is due to the fact that this type of vacation is most popular among young people aged 18 to 24.

"53% respondents in this category are interested in vacationing by water. Respondents over 60, on the other hand, don't plan to spend their vacation by the water—only one in ten (10%) expressed such a desire," the experts noted.
