Fishing prices have increased in Finland.

Excellent fishing opportunities attract many tourists to Finland. However, starting this year, they will have to pay more for the pleasure of fishing.

As Fontanka reports.fi, the cost of a Finnish fishing license for an year has increased from 39 to 45 euros, for a week – from 12 to 15 euros, and for a day – from 5 to 6 euros.

Russians most often choose the Mikkeli region and the picturesque Lake Saimaa located there for fishing in neighboring Finland. In Finland, fishing is tax-free only with the simplest rod and natural bait—no spinners or reels. More complex gear requires a permit. Free fishing is also possible for anglers under 18 or over 64.

Not only fisheries inspectors but also local residents can check whether tourists have a fishing license. If a tourist refuses to show the document, they can summon representatives of the competent authorities to the fishing spot.
