
The All-Russian festival "Winter Begins in Yakutia" will be held in Yakutsk from December 1st to 3rd, reports Travel.ru. The festival, which attracts many guests, will feature several themed festivals and events, including an international snow and ice sculpture competition and a gastronomic festival.
The "Diamonds of Yakutia" snow and ice sculpture competition, a prelude to the festival, kicked off today at the Ice Town (202nd microdistrict). The grand opening of the "Taste of Yakutia" gastronomic festival will take place on November 30th, featuring a food fair, master classes, and plenty of delicious food.
On the first day of winter, Yakutsk's Culture and Recreation Park will host a meeting between Father Frost and Chyskhaan, the Lord of the Cold, and the New Year's tree will be ceremoniously lit in Lenin Square. The festival will also feature the "Games of the Peoples of the North" competition, souvenir and folk art fairs, a snowman contest, a winter race, the city's "Stroganina" festival, and much more.
The "Winter Begins in Yakutia" festival is one of the highlights of the region's events calendar.
