Italy to host White Night of Food

On August 4, the White Night of Italian Food (La Notte Bianca del Cibo Italiano) will take place throughout Italy, organized as part of the Year of Food declared in the country.

The idea for the "White Night of Italian Food" belongs to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies of Italy, and the date of the event was not chosen by chance: August 4, 1820, in the suburbs of Florence, was the birthplace of Pellegrino Artusi, an outstanding chef, the founder of modern Italian cuisine and the author of popular cookbooks.

According to ENIT, both public and private companies will participate in the event, which will take place on the streets and squares of many Italian cities. The goal of the "White Night of Italian Food" is to promote food traditions and showcase the country's agricultural successes.

Event attendees can expect tastings, themed dinners, introductions to Italian wines from various regions, culinary masterclasses, exhibitions, performances, and much more. For tourists, this is a great chance to learn more about Italy and Italians, see the country from a different perspective, and sample unique specialties not offered in typical "tourist" restaurants.
