A special police unit was created in Sochi ahead of the FIFA World Cup to work with tourists. The unit includes 30 police officers who speak foreign languages and have undergone additional training.
According to the Kuban State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, tourist police can currently be found in the Olympic Park, the fan zone, the Sea Embankment, and other popular spots among city visitors. They assist foreign and Russian tourists with their orientation, explain the sights, and maintain order.
After the World Cup, tourist police will continue to operate in Sochi.
