Thailand's national park system begins annual seasonal closures, reports the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Conservation (DNP) has begun its annual seasonal closures at 66 of the 147 national parks across the country.
According to the DNP, this is a common practice: every year, for a certain period, depending on the weather and park conditions, the agency closes several of the country's attractions to tourists.
Dates vary, and closures are often due to repairs, restoration, or extreme weather, particularly during the rainy months, which can create unsafe conditions for excursions.

According to the DNP, Thailand currently has 147 national parks covering 70,038.65 square kilometers, or 13,641 TP3T of the country's land area. There are 59 national parks in the North, 43 in the South, 25 in the Northeast, and 20 in the Central, Western, and Eastern regions.
This year, the DNP is closing attractions in 66 national parks across the country, including 24 national parks in the North, 28 parks in the South, nine in the Northeast, and five parks in the Central, West, and East regions of the country.
