Starting July 1, tourists arriving in Vilnius will pay a tourist tax of €1 per person for each night spent in a hotel, hostel, or apartment. The funds raised will be used to improve the Lithuanian capital's tourism infrastructure.
According to the Vilnius Tourism Organization, those arriving for medical treatment, children under 18, disabled persons, tourists renting accommodation for a month or more, as well as groups of tourists booking 10 or more rooms at a time are exempt from paying the tourist tax.
The tax will be paid upon check-in at the hotel.
