Vietnam Airlines expands transit program to Sydney via Hanoi

Starting October 27, 2018, Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier of Vietnam, is expanding its free transit program for passengers traveling to Australia. The program will be available on the Moscow–Hanoi–Sydney and back route and applies to all flights. Booking classes, starting with T class. The carrier's press service told TRN this.

Thanks to a new offer, a few hours' wait at Hanoi airport can turn into a full-fledged stopover with the pleasant bonus of adding another city to your travel itinerary. With Vietnam Airlines, your flight from one point to another can become a separate tourist trip, allowing you not only to rest before the long flight to Sydney but also to fill that time with new experiences and discoveries about the Vietnamese capital.

Depending on the flight destination, passengers will be offered two service package options:

On the Moscow – Hanoi – Sydney route (departures on Thursdays and Saturdays):

• Meeting at the airport and passing through immigration and customs services;

• visiting the sights of Hanoi;

• check-in at a hotel for one day (3* hotel for economy class passengers and 4* for business class);

• meals: lunch and dinner;

• transfer to the airport to check-in for the next flight segment.

Sydney – Hanoi – Moscow (departures on Mondays and Wednesdays):

• meeting at the airport and passing through immigration and customs services;

• transfer and overnight stay at the hotel (3* hotel for economy class passengers and 4* hotel for business class);

• transfer to the airport to check-in for the next flight segment.

Among the cultural and historical sites in Hanoi that are accessible to visitors is the architectural complex of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, which includes one of Vietnam's most famous Buddhist shrines, the Lotus Flower Tower, or One Pillar Pagoda. This wooden temple, built on a single pillar 1.25 meters in diameter, resembles a lotus flower—a Buddhist symbol of purity. The tourist route then leads to one of Hanoi's main cultural attractions, the Temple of Literature, a complex of Confucian temples founded in 1070 and home to the National University of Vietnam.
