The head of the ETS-Tur group and the owner of Maxx Royal Hotels, Mehmet Ersoy, has been appointed as the new Minister of Tourism of Turkey, reports Turob.

The new head of the department was born in Istanbul in 1968. He graduated from Istanbul Higher School in 1987. In 1991, together with his twin brother Murat Ersoy founded the tour operator company ETS-Tur.
ETS Group operates a total of 13 five-star hotels with a capacity of 12,000 beds, including a chain of seven Voyage hotels, two Maxx Royal Resorts hotels, and Elexus Hotels Resorts & Spa in Kemer.
The holding also includes travel agencies, an airline booking system, a review site, and the online travel magazine Etstur.
In 2004, ETS Group acquired Atlasjet, founded by Oger Holding, thereby entering the aviation industry. Since 2015, the company has been marketed under the Atlasglobal brand. The carrier operates scheduled and charter passenger flights to Europe and Asia, as well as within Turkey. It is based at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, with an additional hub at Dalaman Airport.
