The Phuket office of the Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc) has taken direct charge of maritime security, it reports. The Phuket News.

At the meeting, he announced that ISOC developed safety standards for the tourism industry.
According to Rear Admiral Mattawanukoun, strict adherence to the rules is necessary "for the country's stability," which explains ISOC's participation. A person present at the meeting also spoke about this, according to a statement from the provincial PR service. Governor Norraphat Plodthong.
"The Phuket office of ISOC has developed regulations that all businesses involved in the tourism industry must follow for the sake of the country's stability. The goal is to monitor, correct, and restore the situation in Phuket, as well as ensure the safety of the island's residents. This will allow tour operators, guides, and tourists themselves to ensure confidence and achieve the results of the safety campaign, as well as strengthen the development and oversight of tourism businesses in Phuket," the governor stated.
The content of the rules themselves was not disclosed to journalists.
The meeting at the provincial administration building was followed by another inspection of the piers used for tourist services. The governor had previously noted that "many of the piers need improvement."
Among the key safety parameters mentioned by the governor are equipping all piers with video surveillance systems, making information about watercraft safety accessible to tourists, and inspecting all vessels to ensure crews comply with safety regulations and the presence of life-saving equipment on board.
"From now on, personnel from relevant agencies will be on duty at all piers to inspect each vessel before departure. Life-saving and other equipment on board must be ready for use. All passengers must register and provide full personal information," Governor Plodthong noted.
