The Fujisan World Heritage Tourist Information Center has opened in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, located at the foot of Mount Fuji. According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, construction of this unusual inverted-cone-shaped building began in 2013, when the majestic Mount Fuji was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The upper level of the information center offers a magnificent view of the mountain, its silhouette reflected in the surface of a large pool. Fujisan World Heritage is designed as an exhibition space, where tourists can also plan their itinerary and obtain all the necessary information about Mount Fuji, one of Japan's most iconic symbols. The information center is open daily from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with extended hours in the summer. Admission to the Japan exhibition costs 420 yen ($3.7).
