Winter sales in Finland will start on December 27

The winter sales season in Finnish stores and shopping centers traditionally begins immediately after Christmas, on December 27. The sales period lasts four weeks, reports Travel.ru.

The sale is indicated by the signs ALE and Alennus in the shop windows. Discounts on products by the end of the sale reach 80%. In recent years, stores have been trying to compete with online retailers by attracting customers with discounts of 50% during the first few days of the sale. Tourists can save even more on their purchases by issuing tax-free receipts for VAT refunds.

As a reminder, virtually all stores in Finland are closed on December 25 and 26. The exception is shops in the border regions of the southeast of the country, which receive special permission to remain open during the holidays to accommodate the large number of Russian tourists visiting Finland during this period.
