On September 14, the Moscow Department of Sports and Tourism and the State Tourism Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan presented the capital's tourism product offerings to travel agencies in Kazan.
“Moscow and Kazan are rightfully considered leaders in the development of domestic and "Inbound tourism in Russia. The tourism industry's high performance is achieved thanks to the active work of all participants in the two cities' tourism markets, as well as the proactive stance of tourism authorities," noted Liana Saetova, Deputy Chair of the State Tourism Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan.
At the event, Moscow experts presented their Kazan counterparts with package deals, modern excursion programs, and special offers offered by Svoy Hotel, the new hotel booking system for Russia. Special attention was given to the capital's offerings in the areas of event and gastronomic tourism.
Ekaterina Borisova, Head of the Tourism Department of the Moscow Department of Sports and Tourism, noted the high figures and growing trend of tourist arrivals to Moscow. "In recent years, the Moscow government has been paying special attention to developing tourism infrastructure and promoting a modern, competitive tourism product in both domestic and international tourism markets," the head of the Moscow delegation emphasized.
The interest of travel agencies in the Republic of Tatarstan was aroused by the presentations of all experts from Moscow: the Radisson Royal Moscow Flotilla, City Sightseeing Russia, the Capital Shipping Company, Svoy TS, and the companies Rose of the Winds, Premiere, and Viaduct Tour.
Participants also discussed cities' preparations for the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Russia next year. The development of infrastructure for fans and tourists is being facilitated by the opening of new hotels, improvements to transportation infrastructure, and the creation of new pedestrian areas and routes.
