Experienced travelers know all about preparing for a trip on their own. Buying plane tickets and booking hotels online takes a minimum of time, and making a “suitcase” list is an absolutely useless exercise. Such tourists know exactly what is necessary take on a trip, and what things will only get in the way. Adopting someone else's experience is always useful, especially if you are ready to put everything and a little more in your suitcase.
Mandatory items
Regardless of the purpose and duration of your trip, there are a few essential things you should definitely take with you. Remember:
1. Documents. First of all, we are talking about a foreign passport and a birth certificate for a child. Don't forget to also get and take insurance with you.
2. Airplane or bus tickets and a voucher confirming your hotel reservation.
3. Money. It is better to keep the main amount on the card, but cash is also a must.
4. Phone and charger.
If you think globally, this list is enough to go to any country. All other things can be bought on the spot, but we, of course, will not spend extra money and will take everything we need with us.
What else to take with you on a trip
All things that may be useful to you during your trip can be divided into several groups:
— Clothes and shoes. When making a list of clothes to take with you, consider the time of year and the expected weather. Don’t take too much, especially for a beach holiday. It’s likely that you’ll spend your entire vacation in shorts and a T-shirt. It’s best to leave clothes that wrinkle easily at home. Choose comfortable shoes, taking into account long walks, if any.
— Personal hygiene items. Most modern hotels offer their visitors small packages of shampoo, shower gel, soap, which means that all this can be left at home. In extreme cases, there are shops in any city, and this group of goods is not too expensive. As for a toothbrush and toothpaste, cosmetics, deodorant, it is better to take them with you, but in small containers, so that if necessary you can carry them in your hand luggage on the plane.
— Medicines. This point is especially relevant if you have chronic diseases or you are traveling with children. However, your first aid kit should not take up half of your suitcase, especially if you have good insurance and are traveling to a civilized country. Most likely, there will be a pharmacy within walking distance, and in extreme cases, you can call a doctor.
If you have a long journey ahead, you can take headphones, a book or magazine with crosswords and a pen. For children, you will most likely need toys or books, and as an alternative - a tablet with games. You can also take a small snack - cookies, crackers, nuts and dried fruits, bananas and apples. But bed linen, towels, dishes can safely be left at home, because all this will probably be in the hotel.
